The German contribution to the European ICOS research infrastructure is coordinated by the Thünen Institute of Climate-Smart Agriculture. The coordinating activities comprise internal consultations amongst the 13 German partner institutions, contacts to ministries and stakeholders, public relations and facilitating an efficient exchange of information between the German network and the European ICOS bodies and committees. Therefore the coordinator has also a formal role as Germany’s ‘National Focal Point’.
